Fajitas!

In topic this week we have been making Fajitas. We learnt that fajitas are originally from Mexico. We added to our fajitas, peppers, chicken, cheese, lettuce, sour cream, guacamole and tomatoes. We didn’t get to eat them at school, but they looked amazing!

Greek Salad!

In topic we have been creating our own feta salad. We had great fun chopping, slicing and cutting the lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, black olives and feta cheese. We then got to eat our salad. Some of us didn’t like the black olives, but the feat cheese was yummy.

Food from around the World!

July8

In literacy we have been creating our own information leaflet about food from around the world. We have used expresso to find information about food from France, Italy and China. Then we titled our leaflet and gave it subheadings. After that we wrote some of the facts we found out about for each country. Then we wrote about what our favourite food it. Finally we gave our leaflet an exciting and colourful front cover, to make people want to read our leaflet.

Our Star writer is Freddie.

Freddie has really matured with his handwriting, he is trying to use his joins in his work. Freddie has made his handwriting smaller and when producing something for display, he really pulls his finger out and produces a super piece of writing.

Well done Freddie!

INFORMATION TEXTS!

June25

In literacy we have also created our own poster.

We wanted to tell everyone how much we have learnt about information texts. We wanted to help other children who may not know what features an information text has,  so that when they create their own information booklet they can use all of the important features.

What did you find?

June25

In literacy we have been using non-fiction texts to look for information. We know all of the features of a non-fiction text and we know where to find information by reading the subheadings.

We worked together with a partner to find information about food from different countries; we found parts of it quite tricky, but once we had found some information we knew where to find the next bit.

We loved reading and finding information about food from different countries.
